About kdrake1007:
I'm a 48 year old stay at home mom. I've been married almost 22 years and we have 2 daughters (just sent my oldest off to college). Photography came as a natural progression from taking pictures of the kids as they've grown up. I'm somewhat of a "tech nerd". In my pre-kids life I worked in technical support for a computer software company, among other things. I love being the "expert". When digital cameras first came out, I was hooked on the ability to use the computer to modify them. My first digital camera was a Kodak D215 that was given to my husband for working on New Year's Eve 1999. Next was an Olympus 750UZ. When my kids started playing sports and I couldn't get good action shots, I moved up to a Konica Minolta 5D. I got that just before KM announced they were getting out of the camera business. It's been a wonderful workhorse of a camera, but now I'm looking to upgrade to a Sony A700 - not their latest release but it does exactly what I need and I have some pretty good Minolta glass that'll work with it! I also have a small embroidery business that I run out of my home - mostly personalized baby gifts - but I'll also do small run (25 pieces or less) corporate or team wear. No advertising, just word of mouth - I want to keep loving what I do and doing what I love.
