Weekend Plans?

I have a long weekend which officially begins AFTER I've gone to the dentist tomorrow morning.

I still haven't quite decided where I will go on my picture-taking safari, but the camera WILL get some use this weekend.

What are your plans for this last weekend of summer?

I took tomorrow off with the intention of going somewhere to take some pictures... now I just have to decide where to go!

Over the weekend the Wisconsin Highland Games are going on (link in case you're interested: http://www.wisconsinscottish.org/).  I'm thinking I might hit that and take a few pics as well.

Otherwise I'll be taking it easy and relaxing from a crazy work week.

I'm going paintballing with some friends as a going away party.  He's joining the Navy and if I don't see him in around 6 months from now (after boot camp) I won't see him for probably a few years.

If you saw a man drowning and could either save him or photograph it, what kind of camera would you use?

Well, I should finish a painting this weekend but if the weather is good, I will be out with the camera.
And most certainly a stop at the Dairy Queen before it closes for the season.

I'm hoping to do a combination bike+photography trip, somewhere in Brooklyn, Queens, or possibly Manhattan.  That and catching up on writing and crochet projects.

We're going to Thumbfest! We'll take pictures of the Folk singers there, especially Mustard's Retreat. It's near Lake Huron, so we'll probably do that, too

So, who here actually did what they were planning on doing? ;p

The going away party ended up being a joke, because the navy boy didn't even come, but we still had a blast paintballing.  Also, I didn't mention I was planning on selling my laptop on Sunday but we had to reschedule anyway because I didn't prep it in time.

Awesome smile  I never really go to large shows for some reason, I'm always stuck with local bands.

I ended up going to St. Michaels (on the Eastern Shore in MD - you know, the place Michael Jackson was rumored to look at settling in.)

I ended up doing a lot of crochet and reading, and not too much biking and picture-taking.  hmm  I did take some pictures though.  This one is the apartment above a used bookstore in Brooklyn, NY.

Interestingly, this coming weekend, I have major photography plans, but not what I had planned say a week ago.

I want to enter this contest on instructables http://www.instructables.com/id/ECJHPMRF4CUJNUT/ because it's the direct opposite of what I normally do: coming up with shortcuts for recipes.  I make mostly everything from scratch...so, it will be an interesting challenge for me, and if you're familiar with instructables, you have to take photos of every step!

Wow, that's a pretty spiffy fountain.  Kind of depresses me that I live in Florida and we don't even get snow, much less frozen fountains.

Good luck on the instructable, Alicia!
