Thanks for looking and commenting. This is one of about 200 glass negatives shot by John B  Capewell about 100 years ago. I'm posting them up one or a few at a time every Thursday. I think these negatives have languished in storage unseen for most of the twentieth century. Now I'm letting the world see the work of Mr. Capewell and opening a window to his time period.

Some of John Capewell's glass negatives that I have been posting at Willceau Illo News are a little worse for wear. This is one of them, but it's still an interesting shot and a window on another world.

As the TV commercials say,"But wait! There's more!" I have about 200 of these glass negatives that I am posting and a story is unfolding as I post them. Through research or helpful readers, the puzzle of this photographers life is being put together. Hopefully I will find some direct relatives of the Capewells and/or find out who some of the other people in the pictures are.
