Congratulations for way back in 1988. That is a great photo Degilbo. Love the colours. It must have been a still night - the water looks so smooth

that's a great photo -- deserving of that prize! It must be fun going through all those photos.

All that attention to my seagull photo, and it went to explore in Flickr! I know that explore doesn't necessarily mean a great photo, but since I told myself a LONG time ago I'd get a pro account when I got my first explore, I'm happy

Thanks Tufteach!
I just got my gift card today, and the lens is back out of stock (it was in for a few days and then out again). Because it seems to be in and out, I'm keeping my fingers crossed it will be in again soon. I'll get a notification when it is.
mrbudjohnson -- that is a spectacularly beautiful photo. You deserve the honorable mention! That would be a prize winner in most contests!

Flickr users are more than likely familiar with the great statistics they provide on activity. I have often wondered just what is the average daily views others obtain. Yesterday was my best day ever. Usually I average around 60-90 views but yesterday it literally sky-rocketed which was more than pleasing - 733 views! Here's proof :-)

Wow! Can you tell which photo is generating all that interest, and why?

It wasn't just one photo, Superdewa. The statistics reveal that 208 photos were viewed yesterday (5th). The highest individual one - at 8 views - was this one http://www.flickr.com/photos/degilbo_on … 73590607/. All the others ranged from 7 down. So, I guess, having 208 views with an average of say 3.5 for each, resulted in a high score of 739. Probably eighty percent were views on my Expo88 collection. Because I had taken many on 110 film and many on 120 film, I had linked some of each on the flickr groups for "110 Format" and "Rolleicord". The "World Expo '88" group only has a very small membership of 21. I have all 190 Expo images linked there, but with such a small membership, I doubt if they were responsible for all the views ("110 Format" has 480 members and "Rolleicord" 720 members). However it was achieved, it made my day :-). I would have been more than happy with a result around 200. And 739 was not even a figure I contemplated ever achieving.

Here's another five minutes of fame :-). You may recall I received an invitation from Scmap who publish world-wide city guides some time back? Well, I have just received a message with the link to their current Brisbane directory and my picture is in it: http://www.schmap.com/brisbane/tours_to … 11_116.jpg It's the one of those metal pelican sculptures on a pylon in the Brisbane River.

That's great Degilbo! I've gotten my 15 at http://www.sxc.hu . Who'd have thought holding a little point and shoot out my car window would create over 100,000 downloads! Wish I was paid a dollar for each! Oh well.

So it's not officially announced until the issue is released in December but if you're a subscriber of Digital Photogaphy Magazine... you'll see my photo Dallas Shines as Grand Prize Winner for their My World Competition, held over the summer.
My prize package: Grand Prize Package: Publication of your photo in the December 2009 issue, a Tamron18-270mm lens, a Tamrac 3385 Speed Pack and a Duggal 16 x 24 print of the winning photo.
Hell, I'm just beyond words that I won at all... much less Grand Prize!! I just got the call today and I don't think it's hit me yet... since I haven't started crying as yet.
:squee:
My Entry is here: http://www.dpmag.com/photo-contests/200 … lists.html
Seriously in shock right now. It's my first "major" win. It's called Dallas Shines. It's my local winning photo from the SK Photowalk this summer.

Great news, SarahCate! It is a beautiful image. Wasn't sure which one was yours but I just "moused over" the collection of images until the name popped up :-). World-wide fame is something of an achievement!
