On my way home from Yankton the sun popped out and the storm clouds were spectacular. I did this five shot pano hand held. The sun was behind me, almost set. Click on image for larger view.

kdrake~ Thanks.  That shot wasn't cropped and it was very close.  The barn is about  100ft from the front porch where I was standing.  I didn't see the actual bolt just the flash but I smelled it and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up.  It wasn't until later when I was reveiwing my shots I found this one.  I'm glad I was sitting down because my knees got weak.

dromond - i really like the intesity in your post on the side of the building. i love the warmth under the clouds.
superdewa - i really like the contrast of the snow against the red barn. it's beautiful.

Taken on my honeymoon in Jamaica - the storm wasn't there yet, but you could see it coming.

Ankou, glad to see you pop in here once in awhile. I realize 99% of your time goes to that beautiful daughter you have! ;-)

kdrake1007 - a slight crop, but not much.  I had a limited field of view from my apartment balcony.  And have to agree...NitroHaze, looks like you were almost hit!

Not quite a storm, but it's dark and sinister clouds rolling in off the ocean

This is a great topic.

Jamercede & Great Beyond, those are both spectacular.Storms over water make for some beautiful landscapes.

Nitrohaze -- somehow I missed yours before -- that must have been scary! That's really an amazing catch though!

Haha I posted this in another thread, but I guess it's appropriate on here too.

It was a view outside my window. Rain to the right of the pic.

obijuan --- This really makes me think about watching storms as kid. Did you have the head overlap the window frame piece intentionally? I'm not sure if it's better or worse that way.
