I'll nominate myself... I worked on my own blog design, but when it comes to my photoblog I NEED HELP! Nothing seems to work for me so I'm using a generic template that doesn't do exactly the things I want.  :-(

I too am nominatng myself. I have this year made the transition from weddings and portraits to a business leaning more heavily towards the outdoors, hunting clubs, trophies, dogs...fishing trips, wildlife ...I think I need a site more outdoor oriented. I can't seem to get the outdoor feel that I'm looking for...

Oh good lord do I need help! I have been doing my own web site for about ten years and that was fine when I was just getting started as an emerging artist.

But now with the recent upsurge of interest in my fine art photography work I have many more professional clients, galleries, designers and publishers visiting my decidedly amateur-looking site. It's become embarrassing. My web site no longer represents the quality of work I am producing and the direction I am headed in the future.

In short, I could certainly use your help! Please?

A lot of brides and other potential clients look at my website, and then I never hear back from them to make an appointment for consultation. A few folks have said I have awesome images, but need a professional looking website.  Thank you very much for your expertise.

I deserve it.  My pictures are great, but my website is just a .mac one.  Pretty nice, but not easily customizable.

Honestly, I cannot say I am necessarily the most "deserving" of this free site and awesome design.  However, I can say that I am breaking into the photography business a lot faster than I anticipated and really could use some help.

I bought my first DSLR camera in October, bargaining my wedding dress so my husband would let me buy it.  I took a couple of photography classes in college, but immediately fell in love with digital and started asking friends to take their pictures.  To date, I have 9 paid shoots, including a wedding and senior shoot.  I have four more weddings lined up for this year, one of which, amazingly, hired me through looking at my (sort of sorry) blog.  I had no idea I would jump in this fast and while I am thrilled, I am also behind as far as a proper portfolio and site.

I am learning everything I can about shooting manual, as well as running a business.  I am launching an official business this summer, alongside my friend Renata.  A new site and design would be a great way to jumpstart our business, as we are literally paying for everything ourselves (including all new equipment), and really encourage us!

Our current blog: aaphoto.blogspot.com

I can say with confidence that we are photographers with a lot of potential and we are trying our best to bank on it!

Thanks for your consideration and good luck to all!

I spent two months trying to build my own site due to lack of funds and it was so horrible I cried when I finished!  So, I started all over with a template and although it is better then what I did from scratch it is still amateurish.  It's had to look for higher end brides when your site looks like shlock compared to all the other high end guys (and gals).  I have hits on my site but the average time they spend on my site is 23 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!!  HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!   www.karenard.com

I'll nominate myself too.  smile  Mine doesn't look bad, but all you can do is look at your pics and buy them.  I have no info page, no price page, no blog...nada.  I used the free page from Yahoo! when I bought my domain name, then I linked it to the free page I had through photoreflect.com.

Why do I deserve it?  Well how about because I am a stay-at-home mom who's first job it is to raise 2 kids, one of which has Spina Bifida.  On top of that my second job is a professional photographer but it's hard to be taken seriously when you have such a silly website that doesn't do my photography justice.  Then there's the fact that even when I do work, I can't use the money to upgrade to a better site because all my money is going to either my daughter, her equipment, her therapies, her doctors, her medications, or to my mother, and her doctors, medications, house payment, car payment, insurance, etc...  So any help I can get anywhere to make my business seem more professional and not look like some fly-by-night type of place is greatly appreciated.

I nominate myself.  My friend and I started a budget wedding photography service last year and have had tremendous success, with just a blog.  The problem is what little spare time we have, is usually spent shooting, and not sitting in front of a computer (we both have full time jobs).  As she is moving to Vancouver, I'll be sticking to the business alone, leaving even less time for beautiful websites.  you can see our wedding/baby/maternity pictures at http://redappleimage.blogspot.com and my personal images at http://imagespetites.blogspot.com

I would like to also nominate myself. I have a site and it isn't terrible it is just incomplete. I have so much going on I can't keep up with everything. Trying to start a new business and taking care of my sick wife (I am also disabled, so I am being really burning the candle at all ends smile ) it has been difficult to try and get that professional image out as quickly as possible.
I use a program which works ok but I would love for it to be more personal and really show off what my passion is which is photography not web design.

I'll nominate myself too. big_smile
I'm a pinhole photographer from Argentina (I build my own cameras). I made my online portfolio with a wizard gallery tool and it's hosted on my ISP free space wich is slow and not always works.
In the year 2006 someone in Mexico saw a picture (http://www.pinholeday.org/gallery/2006/ … hp?id=1836) I posted in a worldwide pinhole photography gallery (http://www.pinholeday.org) and asked me to publish a couple of images in an article in one of the most importants newspaper from there. That's when I realized how important is to have a  web-based portfolio.
Now, each time I go to a museum and art galleries to ask for an opportunity to exhibit my work, I feel embarrased for not having a decent portfolio and my own domain. It's almost impossible to remember this URL:

http://cablemodem.fibertel.com.ar/314te … index.html

By the way, If I could have a makeover I'll also have it translated to english wink

I've had my own website for personal stuff, forever... however, at this rate it's less than desirable as a place to send folks to see my photography.

I had a photoblog up and running for a while but nothing anywhere near professionality.

I've been wanting to streamline my site, mainpage, etc. to include simple crisp links to a nice portfolio, simple blog, and basic contracting info...

amancay.com

please, help a sister out!?

I have been trying to dink around with building a website now for about a year.  I tried a host but their site templates were too cheesy, then I found uber.com, which is great - but I just cannot get mine to look good like the others.

I really need a professional site so I can get more people to see my photography as it should be seen, and also allow me to get more gigs taking pics of sweet little newborns.

Help!

I'd like to nominate myself. For a couple of years I've been hoping for that to-die-for website but my dear, sweet, and very cute webmaster (who also happens to be my husband) is super overwhelmed and can't seem to find the time. I'm a graphic designer and photographer (and writer, mother of four, jewelry designer, laundress, chef, housekeeper, personal driver, butt wiper [but only for the toddler!]....) and I can't quite grok this web stuff. So, I've cobbled together Flickr, a Smugmug site, and have a portal, if you will, registered under my domain....
And it all looks like that...cobbled together. I would like, finally, to take everything up a serious notch or two and show the world my work and promote myself properly. Finally. Plus sell prints professionally, rather than just through Etsy...which is awesome but still...it isn't fully ME. Ah, to get everything under one roof....which is more than I can even say for my family (did I mention that the kids and I are living with my mom while the house "remodel" drags on into a year?? We are so out of money...and so still under construction).

My links:

Thanks a whole lot in advance!
