Got the extension rings out and these were a few of my captures, using the Canon 50mm lens with the rings:

The extension rings took me in so close to the little spider, his legs didn't fit in the screen!

Degilbo, I really like how you can see the web in the spider photos.

Very nice, Deg. I especially like the spiders. The black and orange colors are eye catching.

Thanks, Super and Tufteach! The sun was just at the right angle (benefit of getting up early - LOL!).

Spotted this little seed-pod growing in the lawn and it inspired me to get my set of extender rings out. I picked the stalk took it indoors and used the late afternoon sun as lighting.

Those were really amazing macro shot photos. I like those insects and pulps! I hope somebody here will post some more pics of macro shots but not about flowers or insects, I mean other stuff that will feature the beauty of small things when it gets bigger.

I got my photojojo lenses today, but somehow I still can't focus on what I want. Any advice?

Do you mean that you can't get close enough, that you can't get the entire subject into focus, or that you can't focus on anything at all?

I have a 12mm extension ring that I use with my 50mm lens. I can use it to get up to [about] 2x magnification. I knew this would shrink the depth of field but I did not expect how great the effect would be. The legs of this praying mantis are less than a centimeter closer to the lens but they are way out of focus.

http://forum.photojojo.com/img/posted/resized_img5127b09f1e91d.jpg?url=https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-SACNfCzeJ0g/UEAOKPDkvBI/AAAAAAAAAV8/xbsS4r80qbQ/s534/DSC_0119.jpg

I have not used magnifying filters (like the ones that you can buy for an iPhone) but I'd expect it to have a similar effect on your depth of field.

These are great everyone! The narrow depth of field is what makes macros more interesting to me. Here's a macro I took of my lab before going for a walk today.

Mark, love the detail in your image. What lens did you use?

Went macro and HDR today. This punched metal decoration is on a small candle holder. It is about 2.5 inches across.

Tufteach that's a nice one! Sorry it took a bit to get back to you. I have a Canon EF-S 60mm lens I've been using for a few years now. I like it a lot.
