Well, my posting has finally caught up to my shooting - here's the first of the fisheye shots for, well - not all of september, but pretty close to the whole month.

Yeah, I have gotten used to it more, and it's a pretty fun lens. Composition with strong, decisive lines really work well with this thing. Since I'm shooting film primarily and have that overscan issue, it probably wont be my all-around lens. And unless I have something specific in mind - I'm putting it away for Halloween, for instance - I'll probably use it sparingly.

Still, it's a fairly solid lens for a pittance. I don't regret getting it.

I'd just seen someone with a really nice "planet", super clear and perfect. They said they used their fisheye and only took two photos for it.

Well, my "new" Samyang fisheye (now with removable lens hood!) still cuts off some of the picture, but now I'm only losing 10%  of the picture instead of 20-ish. I just have to compose for it:

Interestingly, shooting the sun is a pain in the ass. I have SUCH a wide field of view, I have really only have two choices, face the 180 degrees towards the sun or face the 18 degrees away from the sun and get my shadow in the shot. One or the other! So it's occasionally challenging to compose without lens flare.
