Get your picture in The Photojojo Book!
Hi everybody in Photoland!
We're working away at the The Big Photojojo Book of Awesome, and we need your help!
We have three projects that we need your pictures to complete. Send in your photos, and we'll choose some favorites to publish in the book!
Make any face you want! Wear anything you want! (Um, you know, within the confines of good family fun.) Send as many pictures of as many people as you want!
Resolution: Make sure to include a link to a high-resolution file, at least 1050x750 pixels.
Guidelines: Check out the examples and guidelines below, and be sure to follow them carefully. Print this page if it helps you to have a visual reference when you're shooting.
Credit: Be sure to let us know your name and the name of the person in the picture if you want credit in the book.
Deadline: Post your pictures here by Friday, July 18th.
Thanks everybody, you guys are the best!
Project One: The Wall

1. Send us a picture of you in front of a smooth white wall.
2. Cropping: from chest to top of head.
3. Lighting: soft daylight or diffused flash.
Project Two: The Paper

1. Send us a picture of you holding up a piece of letter-sized blank paper.
2. Cropping: waist to top of head.
3. Lighting: soft daylight or diffused flash preferred.
4. Hold the paper flat and level; white or light-colored paper is best.
5. Any background is fine (bright colors or interesting textures preferred).
Project Three: The Silly Baby

1. Version A: Send us a picture of your (or somebody else's) baby wearing coke-bottle glasses. Monocles and top hats also accepted.
2. Version B: Draw a festive mustache on the kid. We think Salvador Dali, Hulk Hogan and Hercule Poirot are all fine examples of the art of the 'stache. Unibrows optional (and hilarious).
(We do have to point out at this point that eyeliner is probably a better tool to use than, say, a Sharpie. We're just saying.)
3. Good lighting, bright colors, and uncluttered backgrounds will win you points for awesomeness.
So that's it, gang! Have fun, and thanks for being the best fans we know of! You guys rock!

I'll probably do this Any preference on aspect ratio?

Aspect ratio doesn't matter that much, as long as it's not super-extreme-mondo narrow or wide. Thanks for asking!
And Destiny, that picture's awesome!

In project one and two, can the picture be of someone else or does it have to be us?

This may be a silly question, but in project 2 does the paper have to be held in landscape?

multifactedmuse: Yeah, landscape would be best, I should've mentioned that. Good question, thanks!

Believe it or not, I don't have any smooth white walls easily accessible to me. I've been looking!
I'll have to remember to carry some paper with me when I go out.
